Nintendo's new eShop took up a small portion of the company's overall E3 showing, with the announcement that The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX is available now in North America, though European and Australian 3DS owners will have to wait a little longer, we understand.
It burns
Like watching Magneto and Professor X make friends in X-Men: First Class, it's still strange seeing old rivals Mario and Sonic be all chummy in Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, though it's nothing compared to seeing Metal Sonic wielding a tennis racquet.
Land, sea and air
Mario Kart was confirmed for release this Christmas, resulting in much rejoicing, but it's the new additions to the series that will likely get gamers geared up (sorry) for the upcoming 3D racer.
See the flat one on the move
Paper Mario on 3DS looks pretty special in this video below, but having seen it running in 3D we can tell you it looks even better in the thin, papery flesh. While Nintendo didn't have much to tell about the game at its E3 media briefing, the new screenshots and video below should keep you going until we have more solid information for you about Mario's next 3D 2D adventure. Nintendo started its E3 2011 show with a thank you to Zelda fans for supporting the series for 25 years, and Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the company's Christmas gift to gamers this year.
Subtle changes afoot
Animal Crossing for 3DS is unlikely to drastically revamp the series' template established by previous outings on the Gamecube, Wii and DS, but more of the same endearing characters and surprisingly compelling gameplay would go down well with many.
Time to roll the dice once more
The logo for Mario Party 9 was glimpsed right at the end of Nintendo's E3 conference, with some expecting the game to see release on Wii U, but the game is coming to the current platform as these screenshots show.
Tough name for a cute game
DS owners, don't think you were forgotten at E3 — Nintendo is rewarding your love of the non-3D dual screen console with a brand new Kirby, called Kirby: Mass Attack.
In our imaginations anyway
It's still not got an official name or a release date in the West, but Rhythm Heaven does have some new screenshots to look at, so that's something.
Catchy.
Everyone's second (or third or fourth) plumber is coming back to 3DS, with Luigi's Mansion 2, a tentative name. The original Luigi's Mansion was originally intended to show off the Gamecube's 3D ability, but its hidden dimensions never made it to retail, but Nintendo's never one to let an idea go to waste. The first screenshots are below and show off Luigi's truly heroic nature.
