Submarine game is "awfully compelling", says honcho
While we don't yet have a rock-solid launch line-up for 3DS in either North America or Europe, we do know that Nintendo's two top guys, Mario and Link, won't be making their appearances on the console before E3 in June. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime says the titles will be released "when they're ready" whilst talking up aquatic adventure Steel Diver and the company's other launch titles, PilotWings Resort and Nintendogs + Cats.Between 'Nintendogs + Cats' and 'Pilotwings,' those two franchises, either on the original DS or on other legacy systems like the NES or Super NES, have sold tens of millions of copies. Those two franchises have a lot of strength all by themselves. 'Steel Diver' is a brand new experience, and from a compelling standpoint, we think it's awfully compelling.As compelling as Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Reggie? Surely not. We had to say it
Not everyone was impressed with the Move implementation in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, and it certainly lacks compared to John Daly's ProStroke Golf, but EA Sports is determined to put things right when it releases Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters in March.
But not this year
The bad news is that EA ran out of time to bring Tiger Woods to Kinect this year, but it's not game over for the idea of a hands-free golf game.
You'd think a football game from the creators of the Professor Layton games would be enough to pique the interest of games retailers, but judging from the complete lack of awareness and availability in the marketplace you'd be greatly mistaken.
Cute animal-based platformers used to be ten-a-penny in the olden days, but with the advent of more powerful consoles the genre has noticeably diminished. Thankfully the portable nature of the DSi combined with the console's download service means fans of big-eyed animals collecting things can still be entertained, with Zoonies – Escape from Makatu the newest title promising to thrill gamers.
