Kinect Sports Scores Top Five Place in UK Charts

Whilst there was never any doubt that Call of Duty: Black Ops was going to land in the chart top spot, the launch of Kinect should have made the top 10 a more exciting line-up than usual, but disappointingly only one title for the sensor made the higher reaches of the chart.

Reggie Wonders Where Metroid: Other M Sales Went Wrong

Why did Samus underperform?

Metroid: Other M divided gamers: many loved its combination of action, exploration and conversation, whilst others hated the new portrayal of traditionally less vocal heroine Samus Aran, amongst other things. All this equated to disappointing sales for Nintendo, the title sitting at around the half-million mark in the US since launch. Nintendo of America's president Reggie Fils-Aime thinks the title deserved better:

We believe that it could be, should be a million unit title. We're not going to get there, not through the holiday. And we are doing a lot of thinking as to why, because it's a great game. The consumer reaction because of the quality has been strong. I think the marketing was strong, advertising was very good, the social media we did was very positive.

The original de Blob for Wii was a critical success for THQ, so much so that the publisher is branching out onto other formats with the sequel. de Blob 2 is on the way to PS3 in February next year, and it's bringing PlayStation Move controls to boot.

Capcom Calls Resident Evil 5 “Best Move Game Out There”

Capcom's only released one title for PlayStation Move, the very good Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, a new update to an 18 month-old game. Despite its age, the game has sold remarkably well, breaking into the charts again and making a great accompaniment to Move's hardcore credentials.
