Edge magazine gives 10/10, UK preorder bonus too

Despite pretty much universal acclaim for the first Super Mario Galaxy, it wasn't the biggest-selling game in the Wii's library, its sales eclipsed very early on by New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Clearly Nintendo thinks the upcoming sequel will shift more units, as stories have appeared on the Internet today regarding a pack-in bundle.

Famicase project shows off 2010 line-up

The humble Famicom cartridge may not seem like the perfect canvas on which to create art, but every year Japanese game shop Meter hosts Famicase, a project aiming to prove just the opposite. Artists are asked to create artwork for a fictitious game and display it on a Famicom cart, and predictably the results range from the brilliant to the bizarre.

When done right, episodic adventure games on Wii can be fantastic: brimming with intrigue, plot twists and great characterisation, they're up there with the Wii's best. Nobody knows this more than Telltale Games, responsible for bringing us the Tales of Monkey Island games as well as the not-quite-so-good Strong Bad games.

Review: 2010 FIFA World Cup

A semi-final runner-up

FIFA used to be the console equivalent of a 0-0 draw, but the past few years have seen it emerge again as the dominant football game on the market. Last year's FIFA 10 was an enjoyable arcade-style take on the sport, and 2010 FIFA World Cup is a very similar game but featuring all the teams, arenas and pageantry of the upcoming tournament.
