Ikaruga: the puzzler
There’s a great “I’ve got it!” moment in Wakugumi where you graduate from simply sliding blocks about in the hope of making a capture to preparing combo captures with expert precision. Something about the game simply clicks and you find yourself having that classic puzzle inner monologue – “well, if this bit goes here and this pieces goes there..." It’s just a shame that the preceding twenty minutes or more are spent muddling through an initially confounding puzzler.

Nintendo are really ramping-up the promotion for what they undoubtedly see as the must-have Wii game for Christmas, New Super Mario Bros. Wii. In fact, they're going further than usual, announcing a limited edition version of the game available from UK retailers.

The DS has been available in more colours than there are fish in the sea, but survival of the fittest dictates that some must be struck from the gene pool, so it's with regret we inform you that the pink DS Lite console will soon no longer be available within the UK.
